In Chimoio

Today will be a busy day in Chimoio.
In the morning the Our Saviour’s people will be bringing a simple breakfast to Vida Humanna to thank the volunteers for all the great work they are doing.
After breakfast, there will be more visiting of the Vida Humanna patients.
There will be time today to visit the school where Meshak is the principal.  It is hoped that the schedule works out so that they will have time to spend in the English class.
After visiting the school, the Our Saviour’s group will be visiting the ourdoor ‘mall.’  This is located on the outskirts of town. The mall is made up of small stalls.  You can purchase almost anything there: clothing, cloth, blue jeans, fruit, vegetables, fish, chickens (alive), furniture, bicycles, blankets, electronics, baseball caps from America, etc.
[editor's note: the team is having trouble uploading pictures from the other side of the world. We will post pictures of their trip on here when they return]

Chimoio

Today Mike Nylan, Sue & Laura Schreiber, Sara Gmitro, Nancy Sannaman & Pastor Mark Borgetti arrive in Chimoio.  Chimoio is 7 hours ahead of us at this time of year.  The group should be on their way from the airport in Beirra and will be checking into the hotel when they arrive.  This evening there will be a reception dinner with the leaders of Vida Humanna on the hotel roof which is a patio and pool area.  Since the hotel is six floors tall they will have a pretty nice view of Chimoio.
This report is just to let you know what the group is scheduled to do. Hopefully the internet is working in Chimoio and we will receive reports from them shortly.
The weather there will be in the 60′s or 70′s during the day time and in the 40′s at night.  This is the cold season for Chimoio right now.
Tomorrow the group will be off visiting Vida Humanna and some of the patients that the activists visit.

Made It!

Six of the eight have arrived safely in Chimoio minus one piece of luggage.  The team that is here is completely exhausted from the travel and time change.  James and Misheck arrived at the Berea Airport and, after a harrowing two hour drive through the towns of Mozambique, we were immediately introduced to the patients of Vida Humana. The work that is going on is amazing and the resources provided by Our Saviour’s has made a huge impact. So much more to tell … but too tired to tell ya. Will post more tomorrow. Having trouble uploading pictures but will try again.

Thanks again for all your prayers and support

Pastor Mark
